San Antonio

Just a short distance from the River Walk, the Alamo is a MUST for everyone who comes to San Antonio. This 300-year-old Mission was the site of a pinnacle battle during the Texas Revolution in March of 1836. Located at the Alamo Plaza in downtown San Antonio, the Alamo showcases exhibits on the Texas Revolution and Texas History. Don't forget to visit the beautiful Alamo Gardens.

This contemporary art center founded by Linda Pace houses masterpieces created by both local and global artists, like Alejandro Diaz and Do Ho Suh. All their exhibitions are free for everyone to enjoy and span across the two floors of the building, and they also host different themed events.

Stroll along stone trails through this magnificent tea garden with history and explore ponds, bridges, a pagoda, mini waterfalls and diverse vegetation. You might spot some koi and turtles in the ponds, as well as different butterfly species flapping from flower to flower.

Stroll along the colorful and lively San Antonio River Walk and sit down for a beer, coffee or a meal at one of the many restaurants along the river's edge. The River Walk connects the major tourist spots in the city, from the Alamo to the Rivercenter Mall, the Arneson River Theater, La Villita, the San Antonio Museum of Art, and the Pearl Brewery.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas is an adventure for the entire family with award-winning shows, amazing rides and a water park. If you get hungry and tired from all the excitement, there are plenty of restaurants to enjoy a meal and relax.

The 750-foot-tall Tower of the Americas provides tourists the most spectacular view of the Alamo City. Enjoy the beautiful panorama from the Tower's revolving Chart House Restaurant, take in the scenery from the Observation Deck or experience the thrilling 4D Theater Ride.

More than 3,500 animals reside at the San Antonio Zoo, representing 750 species of animals on 35 acres. Get face to face with world's most extraordinary animals. Hippos, crocodiles, and African cichlids from the Lake Tanganyika and the Lake Malawi are visible through underwater viewing windows.

This brewstillery (both a brewery and distillery), one of its kind in Texas, offers a unique and enjoyable educational tour where you have a chance to learn how to make beer and bourbon. Tasting is of course included. There's a gift shop where you can buy their beers and bourbon.

The Natural Bridge Caverns just outside of San Antonio allow you to see an amazing feat of nature. There is a variety of activities to do even outside the caves themselves. For the photography enthusiasts the Discovery or Hidden Passages Tour might be a good option. If you're up for a bit more legwork then choose to brave the 5000 square foot outdoor maze or go Gem & Fossil mining. Whatever your decision will be, the Natural Bridge Caverns make your day a very interesting one.

Enjoy the city of San Antonion from an open-roof double decker. Lay your head back, feel the warm sun on your skin as you casually look around holding your camera tight to take the right picture at the right moment. The tours begin every 20 minutes indiscriminate of the day of the week. With an average duration of 60 minutes you can be certain you will see all the top places-to-be in San Antonio. Also, the starting point of the tour is in front of the visitors center, so be sure to pick up some souvenirs!

Branding itself as "the world's first Ultra-Accessible™ family fun park", Morgan's Wonderland is a non-profit theme park designed and constructed with visitors with disabilities in mind. Morgan's Inspiration Island is a recently opened water park within main park grounds, accommodating to guests of all ages (with or without disabilities), featuring special waterproof wheelchairs and warm water attractions.
